Bunny Brewing

A Home Brewery

How We Brew!

This section of the web site takes you step-by-step through the process of brewing a five-gallon batch of beer. Select any of the pictures to get more details on each stage of the process.

The method we use most often at Bunny Brewing is called "extract with specialty grains". This method uses pre-prepared malt extract as the base of the beer, and a variety of different crushed grains, hops and yeast. This variety, along with different fermentation conditions, allows us to brew almost any type of Ale or Lager.

Not shown in this process is possibly the most important step - sanitation. Everything that comes into contact with the beer, from after it has cooled until it is sitting safely in bottles or kegs, must be thoroughly sanitized. At Bunny Brewing we primarily use Star San (www.fivestarchemicals.com) as our sanitizer of choice.

To see what types of beer we brew, follow the Recipes link. For more information on brewing at home, and where to get the equipment and ingredients you need, visit our Links page.
